Hello, world!
I’m Mikayla, an aspiring public relations professional who loves to write both creatively and professionally. And, since blogs are the thing nowadays — why shouldn’t I make one, too?
I’m a born-and-raised Oregonian, from a teeny tiny town called Harrisburg. When I say tiny, I mean it… My graduating class was about 80 people (yikes). I went on to continue my education at the University of Oregon, where I am a junior working on a bachelor’s of science in public relations and minoring in business and creative writing.
I’ve learned some things about myself during my college journey. I learned that bodily health and mental health are deeply intertwined. I found a passion in exercise, which led me to receive my ACE personal trainer certification and land an incredible job as a physical therapy aide.
Although I’m not pursuing a job in the medical field, I have learned countless valuable skills through these opportunities. Most importantly, I have found my niche for my professional public relations career. And that, my friends, is what this site will be based on. I will be exploring the health and fitness field from a PR lens, delving deeper into the field and the many changes that are happening within. This will also include aspects of the mental health realm, as I believe that all of these things are related and spiral off of one another.
Thanks for stopping by!
